It can be used to vacuum and mop, has excellent navigation with both GPS and laser sensors and comes with a variety of controls and features available via the app. It also has a handy feature that lets you create Cleaning zones in areas that require extra attention, as well as Keep Out zones in areas where you don't wish it to go. It's costly however, it's also one of the most advanced robot vacuums that ZDNet has tested. It comes with a powerful battery that can sweep an entire home in less than two hours. Additionally, it can switch between vacuuming and mopping by pressing one button. It automatically emptys the trash bin that is above its charging station, in contrast to other self-emptying robots that require you to empty it after each run.

It also comes with a variety of other features, such as intelligent obstacle avoidance which uses a camera along with processor-powered smarts in order to detect obstacles. It's not often damaged or entrapped during a cleaning process and is the Best amazon vacuum at avoiding power cables as well as other objects I've tested. However, it isn't as reliable at detecting pet waste or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy has earned its name in low-cost robot vacuums it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model which can also mop. This is changing with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive suite of advanced features and can compete well with more expensive models.

Laser navigation is the main selling point of this machine. The X8 uses laser mapping technology that is more accurate than the previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to create an extensive map of your home and can store multiple maps. This is ideal for multi-floored homes.

The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner on bare floors. It is able to effortlessly sling debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. The X8's tyres, despite having a circular shape, are very good at grabbing edges and corners. Our tests revealed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

The mopping mode that is the basic one uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. This is great for spills that aren't too dangerous, but you are unable to limit the amount of water that it uses. That said, it does an admirable job of removing pet hair, with a better percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Known for quietly effective home appliances Miele's RX2 robot vacuum is a great choice because of its cleaning power, stunning design, and a great navigation. However, it does have a few operational oddities that keep it from ranking as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

Similar to the latest models of iRobot, the RX2 features dual-sensor mapping technology which uses an LIDAR sensor to map a room and a pair of 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. Once the room is mapped, the app lets you assign virtual no-go areas and favorite sections that the robot will automatically clean. You can also begin an automatic clean or manually change the cleaning mode, view live feeds from the onboard cameras, and more from the main screen.

The RX2's sensors work well by registering furniture and obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping abilities are outstanding, effectively taking away surface debris from medium pile carpeting and also removing dust that has been deposited on floors. It's not the fastest robotics on the market. It's not the greatest climber and has issues with transition strips made of steel.

This budget robovac is a robot that looks just like the other, but has a few more features and is more efficient. Its intelligent mapping system creates 3D and 2-D maps of your home and uses to navigate and avoid obstructions. It can even identify common obstacles such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors along with a bump detector and an infrared sensor to keep the vacuum from stepping on the stairs makes it one of our most agile vacuums.

It was able to climb over carpets with thick shags and was not stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigation abilities were also impressive. Its composite score for flooring and carpet beat the competition, and it picked up 98.5 percent of the surface litter and embedded dog hair from our lab test samples.

The controls are simpler than those of the competition's. There is a cleaning button at the top, and you can choose to start it by using the app or by voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule weekly or daily cleanings, set up no-go zones and check its history of cleaning. In a smart dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and is attractive in your home. The dust bin on the rear is easy to empty and removing the filter is just as simple.

5. Eufy 11S

If you're looking to buy a basic low-cost robot vacuum at a reasonable cost, the Eufy 11S is a great option. The model isn't equipped with smart features like Alexa integration and digital mapping, which are available in higher-end models. However, if you don't need these features, you could save money.

This robot is simple to set up and use. It does not require a smartphone app or Wi-Fi pairing, however it does have a remote control that lets you choose between different modes and alter the suction level. You can also send the robotvac on an cleaning schedule.

In our tests, the 11S was extremely effective in cleaning dirt and pet hair from hard floors and carpets with a low pile. Its slim profile made it possible to get under low-hanging furniture and other items that heavier robots were unable to get at. It was also able to easily traverse door thresholds and change between floors and another.

The 11S, as with other robots, can also eat certain objects, like cords and cat toys. The manufacturer suggests that you can prevent this by keeping these objects off the floor and using a cord organizer if possible. Its self-navigating features and environmental mapping are a wonder to behold. It has more advanced automation than the majority of its competitors, such as the ability to create virtual boundary markers with its mobile app. While its application is a bit slow, and the 980 does spin out a bit when moving over cables, it's an extremely efficient robot vacuum.

One thing we love about the 980 is that it uses its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneous mapping and localisation technology (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It then uses that information to create an efficient and consistent cleaning path for every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient robot vacuum than many high-end robotics.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that capture dirt from carpets and hard floors and an ejector brush that spins to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. The floor tracking sensor assists it in maneuvering between furniture, along edges and on steps. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. And it automatically returns to its base station for hassle-free recharges between sessions. Although the 980's battery life and bin size isn't as efficient as other robot vacuums, it's a solid and reliable machine that will keep your floors spotless for hours at a time.
