The robot is costly however it's great for cleaning up dust and spills. It is equipped with advanced programming to eliminate obstacles and can be placed in zones for mopping or vacuuming.

In our tests in our tests, the S8 Pro Ultra picked up the most surface debris and embedded dirt on medium-pile carpet and unfinished floors. Its power to vacuum is a bit below our top choice, the Roomba j7+ from iRobot however, it's a powerful and versatile machine that's well worth your consideration.

The app lets you create a 3D home map in which you can designate no-go zones, and schedule specific cleaning timetables. The app also provides a running log of cleaning times and coverage areas and lets you see the performance of specific rooms and areas. You can also assign different cleaning modes to each area. If you have an Echo device or any other smart speaker, you can use it to add voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant.

2. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba j7+ robot vacuum is an excellent alternative for anyone looking for an automatic vacuum that can also mop. This model uses iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping technology to create the floor plan of your home, so it can clean up your home efficiently possible. Other features include Dirt Detect to focus on areas that are less clean and Reactive Sensor Technology that helps the robot avoid obstacles that block its route.

The j7+, like other iRobot products can be programmed to begin cleaning even when you're not at home and stop when it's not done. It can be controlled with the iRobot app or through Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers. It responds to voice commands better than many other robots, including the $599 self-emptying Neabot NoMo N1.

In addition to letting you control the robot via either a smartphone or remote, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to set up the j7+, create a schedule, and fine-tune other settings. It even guides new users through an onboarding process to aid the robot in understanding their home and plan its cleaning space.

The j7+ comes with an extra-large dustbin than the majority of the self-emptying robots that we've tried. It is able to hold more debris, however you'll still have to empty the bin every seven to eight months (or more often if have pet hair or other large debris). iRobot sells filters and bags that can be replaced separately.

Another nice feature is the front camera of the j7+ it claims to help the robot identify dangers like power cords and pet waste and to avoid them. The camera isn't able to work as well in low lighting however, so you might want to consider a competitor that has a better camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

Lastly, I was pleased to discover that the iRobot J7+ automatically emptys its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal once it is docked. This is a significant improvement over the other models which require you to open manually and empty the dust bag. This small detail will make your life easier and less stressful.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 is a sleek robot self emptying vacuum that offers impressive cleaning performance. It has a 5000Pa suction and comes with dual-sided brushes and floating brushes to remove dirt from corners and hard floors. It has a robust battery that can power both mopping and vacuuming and can return to its dock when low on power. Its smart features include a home-map, 3D mapping and automated cleaning schedules.

Like other Deebot models The T10 Omni has an additional cleaning tank to wash and dry its mopping pads to prevent cross-contamination. The T10 cleaning tank can hold upto 4L clean water. This is enough to mop up 400m2. It's designed in a way that it can be filled up and then drained without getting wet or touching the pad.

One of the features that makes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its intelligent mapping technology that creates an accurate 3D map of your home's layout. This allows the robot to spot obstacles more precisely and adapt its course, enhancing the overall effectiveness of cleaning.

The ECOVACS App is easy to use, and has many settings that can be changed. It's only downside is the lack of the remote control. This could be a niggle for some.

The T10 OMNI does an excellent job of removing pet hair. It was able remove most of the fur from my carpets after two cleaning cycles, and it was even able to navigate around furniture that was blocking its path.

The T10 Omni is a great alternative for anyone looking for a mop and robot vacuum that can empty it. Its mops are just as powerful as its vacuums, and it comes with an attractive design than the Roomba. The T10's smart features compensate for the absence of the remote. With the app, you can quickly start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it, and change the settings of the device.

4. Shark ION XL

Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robot vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent choice for people looking for hands-off cleaning with a high level of performance. The robot vacuum comes with a huge bin that can store up to a month's worth dirt. It can be set up to empty the bin at the end of every cleaning session for long-term storage. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile available. It can clean carpets and hard floors. It can be controlled via an app or voice commands, and you can even create the map of your house to clean each room on demand. The robot can also navigate around furniture and traverse stairs and carpeted rooms with ease.

I tried the ION XL using our standard test for debris in a family room and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It was excellent at vacuuming, clearing pet hair and debris off the floors, and also picked up some of the more stubborn crumbs on carpets. It was also good at maneuvering and didn't get in the way of my bar stools as did the iRobot J7+ did in this test. The only drawback to the ION XL is that it can't detect cords, shoes, or toys in its path. It is necessary to clean your home before you use this vacuum to avoid them.

The ION XL robot cleaner is not as intelligent as the iRobot J7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not need to spend more than $500 on a robotic. It is better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also superior at vacuuming bare flooring and picking up pet fur, but isn't as effective on low- or carpets with higher pile.

It's also not as robust as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be controlled via an app and voice command, and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It's also a great price.
