Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's custom coachbuilding unit, has designed a unique keycase to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bentley brand. It is made of Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a fluttering 'B' paperweight, a set keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

It's a great present to welcome a new owner to their luxurious vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. A century since its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of conflict with BMW it celebrated its centenary in the year 2019. Before the pandemic planning took place, the marque held a series of special events and launches planned to commemorate this significant occasion.

Design

Bentley is known as a luxury car manufacturer that produces extravagant and luxurious vehicles. But even the keys are an oath. The Bentayga key is crafted from sterling silver and has an oversized 'B' logo that lets everyone know you're a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company's centenary.

Bentley Mulliner has redesigned and created the Mulsanne to become the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. The rear seats are designed to give passengers unparalleled comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. A custom heating, ventilation and air conditioning system has been developed to provide each passenger with the perfect climate control setting.

Alongside a series of stylishly executed styling changes as well as a suite of stylishly executed styling revisions, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine capable of producing 560bhp as well as 479lbft of torque. This prodigious power is enhanced by a new suspension design that gives Bentley's hushed, quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a specific specification that is known as the Centenary Specification for vehicles built in 2019. The cabin has cross-stitching, and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered in Centenary Gold, adding to the feeling of celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a personalized Bentley keycase, which completes the bentley key fob programming experience.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with an opening button for the trunk, and another button that can start the car. The key also comes with a switch that allows you to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight area. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your vehicle.

The key is constructed from vegetable tanned leather. It takes over two days to craft each one. It is hand cut shape, sewn, sealed and polished to provide an extremely high-end finish. It is light and compact and matches the bentley car keys key perfectly. Its design resembles the Volkswagen Phaeton's large car key, however it feels heavier and more premium.

Secure-A-Key is also included to help stop keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob. It will shut it off after a few minutes of inactivity. This prevents thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's distinctive design reflects company's values of exquisite craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and cutting-edge technology. Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their car. The "mood station" lets guests pick images that inspire them. They can choose anything from scenic vistas and sporting events. The resulting configuration is saved to individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys, which are presented to the guests in a custom-made key case. The keys are also equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that light up the door's opening pathway with the owner's name or logo when they make their way towards the vehicle.

Bentley says it takes roughly 500 man-hours to craft and assemble the average Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a conscious refusal to take advantage of modern technology. The Crewe factory workers don't use a machine to space perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers are required to park their vehicles manually, not using sensors built into the vehicle to guide them into perpendicular and parallel spots.

The event also saw Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization capabilities with one particular example - the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to founder William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited-edition cars include an exclusive key that shows a small portion of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
